Call for Abstracts
The Catalysis Club of Chicago (CCC) will hold the second of its annual Young Scientist Symposium virtually on Friday January 13, 2023. This is a virtual event with oral talks and poster sessions given by students and postdocs and open to attendance from all members of the CCC including faculty, national lab, and industry members. The program is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM and end at 5 PM Central Time. We are holding this Young Scientist focused symposium in the winter (January) in addition to the traditional in-person Spring Symposium (May) at the end of our annual cycle. This symposium will feature eight student/postdoc speakers, a poster session, and both technical and career focused keynote speakers. The spring symposium in May will feature additional keynote lectures and more time for networking but will not have a poster session. With this format, we aim to increase our ability to highlight the amazing work performed by students and postdoctoral researchers in the CCC Geographic area, while providing an additional opportunity to network and get to know members from other institutions within the club.

Abstract Submission
The Catalysis Club of Chicago invites students and postdocs from within the CCC geographic area to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations.
Templates: Abstracts should be submitted in the conventional CCC-style format CCC-style format and should not exceed one page. Twenty-five minutes (20 min talk + 5 min Q&A/transition) will be allotted for each oral presentation. Please indicate what type of presentation you would prefer (oral or poster). Due to the limited speaking slots, if you request an oral presentation, also indicate if you would like to be considered for a poster. Prizes will be awarded for top oral and poster presentations and winners will be invited to present their work at the upcoming Catalysis Club of Chicago Spring Symposium later in the year!
Submission: Please submit your abstract in word format by end of Dec. 5th, 2022 with this google form. If you’re unable to use the form, you can submit your abstract to CatalysisClubofChicago@gmail.com. The subject line of your e-mail and file name of your abstract attachment should be: “CCC 2023 Young Scientist Symposium XXXX Lastname_Firstname” (where XXXX = ‘Oral’ or ‘Poster’ depending on your preference). Applications are now open. Notification of acceptance will be made in mid-December.
