Save the Date and Call for Abstracts for the 2026 CCC Spring Symposium

We will be holding the annual Catalysis Club of Chicago Spring Symposium on May 4th, 2026 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This year’s symposium will be hosted by GTI Energy at 1700 S Mt Prospect Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018. We will have a compelling group of professional and student speakers as well as opportunities for Student Poster presenters. Confirmed speakers include:

Prof. Stephanie Kwon (Colorado School of Mines)
Prof. Marcel Schreier (UW-Madison)
Prof. Liviu Mirica (UIUC)

This year, the Symposium will include both a POSTER SESSION and ORAL FLASH TALKS from students/postdocs. The Catalysis Club of Chicago invites students and postdocs to submit abstracts for the 2026 Spring Symposium.

Abstracts: please submit as a single Word (.docx) document with up to 300 words of text, and an optional figure, via the linked Google Form

-Note, you will need a Google Account to access this form. 

When applying to present a Poster, you may opt in for consideration to present an Oral Flash talk (15 mins + 5 min Q&A). A panel of reviewers will recommend 4 top abstracts for oral flash talks.

Deadline for abstract submissions: 3/30/26, 5:00 PM. Oral flash talk invitees will be notified by M 4/6/26.

Spring Symposium Fees

Professionals and Postdocs is $80.

Students is $35.

Spring Symposium fees may either be paid in advance through Venmo or at the door via cash or check. Pre-paying for attendance through Venmo is preferred. Please note, no-shows will still be required to pay for the cost of attendance due to contractual obligations for catering costs for the event.
