CCC 2024 Young Scientist Symposium – Virtual Meeting
The Catalysis Club of Chicago (CCC) held its third annual Young Scientist Symposium virtually on Friday January 12, 2024, from 9:25 AM – 4:30 PM CST. This was a virtual event with oral talks and poster sessions given by students and post-docs. We had an exciting lineup of presentations planned for the meeting outlined in our program booklet. Thank you to presenters for your hard work, and thank you to the judges for supporting the professional development of young scientists in the CCC. Judging scores were extremely competitive, with small margins between winners and other excellent contributions. We are pleased to announce the winners of the YSS talk and poster competitions:
ORAL TALKS:
1st place (tie, $100): Angel Santiago-Colon (Purdue), Joseph Esposito (Minnesota)
POSTERS:
1st place ($100): Megan Kelly (Wisconsin)
2nd place (tie, $60): Elizabeth Brungardt (Wisconsin), Bereket Bekele (Purdue)
4th place (tie, $40): Ankit Kumar Gautam (UIUC), Alexander Zielinski (Wisconsin)
We will invite the top 2 oral winners and top 3 poster awardees to present flash talks at the CCC Spring Symposium on Monday, May 6, 2024.
